Introduction of Artificial Intelligence in Judiciary is a revolutionary step. This is going to take Justice Delivery as a service to new heights. We are thankful to The Chief Justice and other Honorable Judges of the court for taking this initiative.
The said Artificial Committee (AI) has been constituted to look into the aspects of
1. Use of AI Language Technology in translation of judicial documents.
2. Use of AI in Process Automation on the administrative side.
3. Exploring potential of use of AI in legal research assistance on judicial scale.
4. Exploring the potential use of AI in other judicial avenues.
However, the Indian judiciary has been facing a shortage of judges and an increasing number of pending cases in different courts. There is a lot of pressure on the judiciary to deliver quality judgments in all the cases within a reasonable time frame. An AI-based system specifically designed for a particular judicial task could prove to be very effective in assisting the judges with making decisions, thus enabling them to achieve their target smoothly.
